Lake Solebury

View of Lake Solebury

Solebury Township has acquired the 166-acre former New Hope Crushed Stone Quarry through an innovative partnership that significantly reduced the financial burden on taxpayers. Additionally, in early 2026, the Township was awarded a grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in the amount of $800,000 toward the acquisition of the property. This resulted in a net cost of acquisition of less than $500,000. This acquisition ensures the long-term environmental protection of the property and will provide public recreational potential.

The Township is in the beginning stages of planning for the phased development of the property. However, it is important for our residents to understand that this process will take time. Full development—including remediation, evaluation, and the creation of a community-driven master plan—is expected to unfold over several years.

In March of 2026, the Board of Supervisors created the Lake Solebury Advisory Committee. Township Administration will be seeking interested applicants soon. Over the course of 12 to 15 months, the committee will evaluate the property and make recommendations for future uses and improvements to the Board of Supervisors. Following the work of the Lake Solebury Committee, the Township will embark on a formal master planning process projected to begin in 2027, contingent on available funding.

We welcome and encourage public input throughout this process. Comments and suggestions can be submitted at any time by email to soleburytownship@soleburytwp.org or during the public comment portion of Board of Supervisors meetings.

Your voice will help shape the future of this remarkable property.
